Liverpool manager Arne Slot admits he has yet to fully exploit Darwin Nunez potential since taking charge but is confident he will succeed.

The No. 9 has scored just four goals this season and has been a regular substitute, with the Dutch boss preferring Luis Diaz to play as the centre-forward.
Asked if Nunez was struggling to prove himself in the long term, Slot said: “For me, it’s like we played a quick game and lost. People say, ‘You’re not awake because you played at 12:15.’ When things don’t go well, there are always things that come up that have nothing to do with what happened.”
“Darwin is a centre-forward that we have to สมัครสมาชิก UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีทุกวัน play in a certain way and we haven’t been able to get the best out of him this season. In the game against Accrington Stanley you could see he’s got pace but unfortunately for him, most teams tend to drop deep against us.”
“If you look back at the goals he’s scored for us, I remember the one he scored against Villa where he ran the goalkeeper off with his speed. That’s his strength – he’s got other qualities as well, but we have to try to put him in the best positions against teams that are deep.”
“It’s about the right timing, the right cross, the right start, but I still see… I don’t know if other people see it. The way teams defend our No. 9 is something you have to give credit to other teams as well.”
“There’s no ‘Darwin, you can score’. Every time we cross I see defenders around him. I see it, but the referee doesn’t. It’s difficult to score against a team like Forest because every time we have a chance they have six, seven, eight, nine or 10 players in the box.”
“And the only time (Chris) Wood had a chance he was almost on his own. We weren’t close to the ball, they had one chance. We had 15 chances, but with our 15 chances there was always a player close to the ball or one of our players.”
“Darwin will score goals. He has done it before and will do it again.”
